The Handbook Guru - Terms & Conditions 

1. Subscription Service and Auto-Renewal 
1.1. The Handbook Guru offers subscription-based access to its digital HR products. Clients may choose from the following monthly subscription options 
1.1.1. Policy Portal: £35 + VAT per month. 
1.1.2. Bespoke Digital Handbook: £55 + VAT per month. 
1.2. Both subscription options provide businesses with continued access to HR compliance resources and automatic policy updates in line with UK employment legislation. The Bespoke Digital Handbook additionally includes tailored onboarding materials, performance and development dashboards, and company-specific branding. 
1.3. Subscriptions are billed monthly via Direct Debit and will automatically renew each month unless cancelled in accordance with Section 3 of these Terms and Conditions. 
1.4. Failure to establish or maintain a valid Direct Debit may result in delays in service activation or suspension of access. 
 
2. Subscription Period 
2.1. All subscriptions are subject to a minimum term of 24 months from the date of activation. 
2.2. Upon completion of the initial 24-month period, the subscription shall continue on a rolling monthly basis. 
2.3. Following the expiry of the initial 24-month subscription term, subscribers may cancel their subscription by providing a minimum of 30 days’ written notice in accordance with Section 3. 
 
3. Cancellation Policy 
3.1. Subscriptions may be cancelled by providing a minimum of 30 days' written notice prior to the next billing cycle outside of the initial 24 month period. 
3.2. Should the client wish to cancel during the initial 24 month period then they shall become liable for the remaining payments up to and including month 24. 
3.3. Cancellations must be submitted via email to info@thehrguru.co.uk
3.4. No refunds shall be issued for cancellations made partway through a monthly billing period. Access to services shall continue until the end of the paid period. 
3.5. The Handbook Guru reserves the right to terminate any subscription for breach of these Terms and Conditions or failure to make payment. 
 
4. Payment Terms 
4.1. Subscription payments are collected on a monthly basis through Direct Debit which will be automated during the onboarding process. 
4.2. No work will commence until these terms and conditions have been signed and the Direct Debit activated. 
4.3. The initial monthly payment will be processed at the point of subscription activation and subsequent payments will be collected on the same calendar date each month. 
4.4. All prices quoted are exclusive of VAT, which will be applied at the prevailing rate. 
4.5. The Handbook Guru reserves the right to revise its pricing structure. In such cases, existing subscribers will be notified with no less than 30 days' advance notice. 
 
5. Additional Costs 
5.1. The following optional services and amendments may incur additional fees: 
5.1.1. Creation of additional policies outside of our basic suite or agreed scope of work: £70 per policy 
5.1.2. General edits or bespoke amendments outside of legal updates: Reasonable* amendments included in the monthly subscription. Larger edits will be priced on a case by case basis. *example of reasonable being 1 edit per month. 
5.2. Any editions required can be submitted via email at info@thehrguru.co.uk
5.3. Payment for additional services is due within 30 days of invoice. Failure to make payment within this period may result in temporary restriction or suspension of service until payment is received in full. 
5.4. All additional charges are exclusive of VAT and must be paid in advance of the requested service being delivered. 
 
6. General Terms 
6.1. These Terms and Conditions may be amended by The Handbook Guru at any time. Any such amendments will be communicated to subscribers in writing or via electronic notification. 
6.2. Continued use of the service following notification of changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms and Conditions. 
6.3. Subscribers agree not to misuse, replicate, distribute, or reverse engineer the platform or its contents. 
 
7. Intellectual Property Rights 
7.1. All content, platform code, templates, documents, and designs are the intellectual property of The Handbook Guru. 
7.2. Subscription grants a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the product for internal business purposes only. 
7.3. No material from the service may be reproduced, republished, uploaded, posted, transmitted, or distributed in any form without prior written permission. 
 
8. Limitation of Liability 
8.1. The Handbook Guru is provided as a general HR compliance tool and is not a substitute for legal advice. 
8.2. The Handbook Guru accepts no liability for direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from the use or inability to use the service. 
8.3. While every effort is made to ensure accuracy and legal compliance, the ultimate responsibility for handbook content rests with the subscribing business. 
 
9. Data Protection and Confidentiality 
9.1. The Handbook Guru complies with all applicable UK data protection legislation. 
9.2. Subscriber data will be used for account management, service provision, and related communications only. 
9.3. Subscriber data may be shared with The Handbook Guru's affiliated entities (The HR Guru, The Hiring Guru) for the purpose of promoting relevant services. Subscribers may opt out of marketing communications by contacting info@thehrguru.co.uk. 
9.4. No personal data will be sold or shared with third parties without explicit consent. 
9.5. Subscribers are responsible for ensuring that any data uploaded into the platform complies with applicable data protection laws. 
 
10. Termination of Service 
10.1. The Handbook Guru reserves the right to suspend or terminate a subscription without notice for: 
● Breach of these Terms and Conditions 
● Misuse or unauthorised use of the product 
● Failure to make payment after reasonable attempts to collect 
10.2. Upon termination, access to all services and handbooks will be revoked immediately. 
 
11. Force Majeure 
11.1. The Handbook Guru shall not be liable for failure to perform its obligations where such failure results from circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, war, terrorism, cyber-attacks, labour disputes, pandemics, or service outages
 
12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction 
12.1. These Terms and Conditions are governed by and shall be construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
